Do you only make models of Defence related subjects?
DMG prides itself on taking up a challenge if issued one. We dont restrict ourselves to just
Ships or Defence related subjects. If the client requires a certain model constructed, if it is in
the scope of DMG's abilities to do it justice, then we will put our all into it, to present to the
client value for money and a model of their subject they can be proud to show the world.
How long would it take to make a model?
This depends on many factors. The following details have to be taken into account when giving an
estimated time of delivery. First off, is how much research has to be done to achieve the results.
Next, the scale and level of detail required in the model and what the subject of the model is.
If there is any special requirements such as working features, lighting and other electronics.
If parts are already available for the model from either DMG sources of from other companies. There
are many other items to look at when estimating the number of man-hours that go into a model. Generally
a model may take anywhere between a week for a simple model or up to 12 months for some of the more
detailed and sophisticated models.
What do they cost?
Once again this depends upon many factors in what is involved. Most of the factors above dictate
the cost as well as hours to build. It can vary from between several hundred dollars up tens of
thousands. An example would be the TENIX 56M SAR Craft which cost approximately A$400.00 each, up to
something like the interactive model of HMAS SYDNEY, which is valued at approximately A$40,000.00.
