1:150 Scale ANZAC FFH

DMG were requested in 2004 to produce a smaller model of the ANZAC Class FFH rather than our usual 1:100 or 1:72 scale models. With APS Models' input, it was decided to construct a 1:150 scale hull which measures 785mm in length. We produced moulds of several weapon systems, ship's Rigid Hulled Inflatable Boats (RHIBS), boat cranes, capstans, bollards and fairleads which where then cast in polyurethane resin.

Three models have so far been produced. Two models, HMAS ANZAC and HMAS WARRAMUNGA have been built for International Paints, one going to their office in Perth and the other to their head office in Sydney, and a third model, again HMAS ANZAC, for a collector in the USA.

The hull is produced in fibre-glass with the superstructure constructed from “Evergreen” styrene and parts from polyurethane resin and brass. Guard rails are photo-etched brass. Each model was supplied in a one piece acrylic display case with native timber base.
