After completing almost 40 of the 1:35th scale ASLAV Type 1 models, GDLS - A ordered a 1:35th scale model of each type of ASLAV being delivered to the Australian Army.

The ITALERI LAV-25 MORTAR Carrier model was selected to modify into the four Type II Variants and the two Type III Variants.

The variants are Command, Surveillance, Ambulance and Personnel Carrier, which are built on the Type II body. The Recovery and Fitters vehicles are built on a Type III body. Much of the models were scratch built using Evergreen styrene and brass as well as the modification kit already produced by DMG for the ASLAV Type 1 models.

Recently additional models have been constructed of the proposed Phase IV currently under consideration for the Australian Army. This version involves removing the front end of the vehicle and building a new profile front section, additional external fuel tanks and other modifications.

These models are on display at the GDLS - A Marketing Office in Canberra.
