| After seeing the 1:35th scale models of the General Dynamics' ASLAV, DMG was asked by MTU Detroit Diesel Australia
to produce several models for display in their Sydney Office. DMG delivered two ASLAV-25 models and a model of the MORTAR version
proposed by GDLS-A.
Following this delivery MTU asked DMG to produce 1:35th scale models of the Australian Armys AS1 LEOPARD Main Battle Tank
and the Upgraded M113 being modified by TENIX Defence.
The LEOPARD is a modified Italeri LEOPARD A4 Kit, which at this stage is out of production, so was eventually sourced from
Squadron in the USA. Modifications to the turret and small mods to the body of the tank were done and painted in the Australian
camouflage scheme.
The M113 is the combination of two Tamiya M113 kits. The upgrade being carried out to over 100 vehicles includes lengthening the
body and adding an additional road wheel from five wheels to six. Other mods include new conformal fuel tanks on the rear of the
vehicle and a new design turret.
A mold was made of the new tanks and the turret so more models can be produced if required. This model was also painted in the
Australian scheme and delivered with the LEOPARD to MTU's Sydney office at Kings Park.
