After completing a 1:35 scale AP-3C ORION for TENIX AEROSPACE in 2006, we decided rather than waste the 1:72 scale kit of the P-3 we used to help design the large model, we would complete the small model for display.

The model is based on the HASEGAWA P-3C ORION kit. New aerials, FLIR system and wingtips were scratch built and added to the kit model. Painted in overall mid grey with decals produced by DMG, the model is a smaller version of that we produced for BAE. The model was mounted on a clear acrylic stand and added to our collection of Australian military models. It will be used for displays by DMG.

In late 2009 we were commissioned to construct two more AP-3C ORION models in 1:72 scale for Australian Aerospace. These models were for their corporate headquarters in Brisbane. The two models were very similar to the original, but reflected several more recent changes done to the aircraft including new ECM and CHAFF dispensers.
