Current and Recently Completed Projects
DMG is now into its fourteenth year and going strong. In fact, we have been so busy it has caused some slips to our schedule which we are working very hard to overcome as quickly as possible.
In November 2010 we attended our first Land Warfare Conference in Brisbane. This was a great experience for us and opened up a new range of customers from those we see at the PACIFIC Naval Conference.
Some fun projects have been undertaken in the past 12 months or so and have included Air, Sea and Land models. We recently completed one of the largest models we have constructed in the form of a 1:100 scale model of the new “CANBERRA” Class LHD. A smaller model in 1:150 is also nearing completion.
Several orders for more TIGER ARH-1 models and MRH-90s have been completed in recent months along with more models for General Dynamics land Systems Australia and Europe. Several months ago we delivered a beautiful model of the Avro Lancaster Mk1 “G for GEORGE” to the newly commissioned 460 SQN in Canberra which flew this aircraft over Europe in WW2.
Several projects are nearing completion including two models of the Ex-HMAS CANBERRA (FFG02). Both models are built to 1:100 scale and will be placed on display at dive centres on the Mornington Peninsular to show divers what they will be seeing when they enter the waters off Portsea, Victoria where the CANBERRA lies as an artificial reef. A model of the ADELAIDE may also be constructed to go to the Central Coast of NSW where my old ship now rests.
A couple of projects are underway of future military and civilian vessels that will fascinate readers once they are complete so keep an eye on these pages in coming months.
For more information on these projects please visit the individual projects by selecting from the relevant service on left.
